Can I use Rivals in Champions?

Updated this week

Rivals projections may be used in Champions entries! For more information on Pick'em Champions, please see here.

Rivals is a matchup of two players centered around a stat category, like points, goals, or yards. Most Rivals will have an adjustment.

For example, LeBron (+2.5) points vs. Kevin Durant means that LeBron would be graded as a Win if LeBron scored more, equal, or 2 fewer points than Durant. For Durant to win, he would have needed to score 3 more points than LeBron.

Some Rivals will not have an adjustment β€” for example, Alex Ovechkin vs. Connor McDavid Goals. If neither scores, it would be graded as a Tie/Void.

Lowest Score Wins

This applies when the scored stat is deemed as a "negative" stat. In these instances, the player with the lowest score is deemed the winner, and any adjustment associated with the Rival is added to the favorite's score.

For example, in a Viktor Hovland (+.5) strokes Rival vs. Justin Thomas, if they both have 70 strokes in the round, Justin Thomas will be deemed the winner because Hovland will have ended with a 70.5 stroke total.
