Champions FAQ

Updated this week

Why do I only see Champions?

Champions is our way of remaining compliant with your respective state’s laws and regulations while offering the best experience possible. Champions features everything you love about Pick’em Classic: easy-to-make entries, your favorite players’ stats, and big prizes.

The most significant change you will notice is that you are now competing against other players to see who will lead the pack.

What happens if the contest does not fill?

Champions prize pools feature guaranteed payouts regardless of the pool reaching capacity. To the extent required by applicable law, Underdog will ensure prizes are paid in the amount and in the manner stated at entry, regardless of whether a Champions contest is completely filled. Further, Underdog may, in the interest of timely starting contests and for other reasons, close contests to further entries before they reach their originally stated maximum fill.

Are there entry limits in Champions?

There is a limit to the dollar amount that a customer can play on a single player's projections. There is a limit to the dollar amount that a customer can play on a single entry. Additionally, there is a limit on the number of pending entries that a customer may have at any given time. These limits are variable depending on the sport and are subject to change.

What are Champions Points and why are they important?

Participants in Champions contests are competing for the Champions Prize, the share of which is determined by the number of Champions Points accumulated by participants in the contests. The more Champions Points your winning entry accumulates, the greater your share of the Champions Prize.

To win a share of the Champions Prize, based upon Champions Points, you must first have a winning roster. This typically means either accurately predicting how all of the athletes in your roster will perform, or if you choose to flex your Champions contest entry, that most of your predictions will be accurate as shown at the time of entry.

Can I use Rivals in Champions?

Rivals' projections may be used in Champions entries! Rivals is a matchup of two players centered around a stat category, like points, goals, or yards. Most Rivals will have an adjustment.

For example, LeBron (+2.5) points vs. Kevin Durant means that LeBron would be graded as a Win if LeBron scored more, equal, or 2 fewer points than Durant. For Durant to win, he would have needed to score 3 more points than LeBron.

Some Rivals will not have an adjustment — for example, Alex Ovechkin vs. Connor McDavid Goals. If neither score, it would be graded as a Tie/Void.

Lowest Score Wins

This applies when the scored stat is deemed as a "negative" stat. In these instances, the player with the lowest score is deemed the winner, and any adjustment associated with the Rival is added to the favorite's score.

For example, in a Viktor Hovland (+.5) strokes Rival vs. Justin Thomas, if they both have 70 strokes in the round, Justin Thomas will be deemed the winner because Hovland will have ended with a 70.5 stroke total.

Champions - What happens with postponed/suspended games?

Shortened games that are still official will score as usual and be counted toward entries.

Postponed Games

If a game is postponed or not started at the original time and the completion of that game occurs more than 48 hours from the scheduled start time, all selections will be void.

For all team sports, if the scheduled venue is changed after an entry is placed, all selections will be void. For NFL and CFB, if the game isn’t played during the scheduled week, all selections will be void.

For racing events, including but not limited to NASCAR, F1, USAC, World of Outlaws, and High Limit Racing: if a race is postponed or delayed and does not start or restart within one week of the scheduled time, all picks will void. If a race is shortened but considered official, all picks will grade as normal.

Suspended Games

Games that are postponed for rain, weather, or any other reason, prior to starting will be void unless they are played on the originally scheduled day (local time).

If a game is suspended after starting, selections will be graded only if the game is resumed within 36 hours of the original start time. All selections are void unless the outcome of was unequivocally determined before the game was suspended.

For example, selections for “Aaron Judge to Hit a Home Run” will be graded as winners if Judge hits a 1st inning HR and the game is suspended in the 3rd inning and rescheduled for the following week.

Golf

PGA and Golf Pick'em picks impacted by suspended rounds that resume the next day will remain active and be scored upon completion of the round.

Tennis

If a tennis match enters a suspended state for any reason (weather, darkness, COVID), we will wait until the tournament officials decide on the outcome before paying out or canceling contests.

Suspended matches that resume at a later date will remain active and be scored upon completion of the round.

If any market does not reach its natural conclusion (e.g. the end of a game/point for a game/point market via disqualification or retirement/walkover), projections will be void unless the market has already been determined, or unless otherwise stated.

Baseball

Shortened games that are still official will score as usual and be counted toward entries.
