Pick'em Rescues

Updated this week

What are Rescues?

If a player plays in the first half of a game but does not return in the second half for any reason (such as injury or ejection), your entry may qualify for a refund through our Rescue policy. In that case, you'll also receive a Gimme Pick, which will appear in your lobby the following day. This policy only applies if you selected the Higher option on that player’s selection.

Rescue Eligibility

Entries must be valid to be rescued. Rescue refunds will not go into effect if any other selection(s) in your Standard entry are graded as a loss (assuming it is a valid entry). All entries impacted this way will be refunded, but only one special will be available per uniquely impacted player.

Rescues also apply to Flex entries that contain at least one losing selection and would not otherwise be graded as a win. For example, if you have a Pick-5 entry with three winning picks, one losing pick, and one player who’s Rescued because they didn’t return in the second half of their game, your entry will be refunded.

Projections that are rescued for Streaks will automatically be refunded, and the Streak will be settled.

Partial game picks will not be eligible for Rescue.

Rescues can only be applied to Pick'em entries. Injury protection is not available for drafts and sports betting.

Eligible Sports

NFL - Only offensive players are eligible for rescue. Defensive players are not eligible for rescue. Kickers and Punters do NOT qualify for Rescue.

NBA - Rescues to NBA players will be applied at Underdog's discretion. Not all players will be eligible for Rescue.

CFB - CFB Rescues will only apply to players on Top 25 teams. Defensive players, Kickers, and Punters do not qualify for Rescues. To determine the Top 25 teams, AP Rankings will be used until the CFP Rankings are released.

MLB - Players have a maximum of 7 rescues per season. Hitters must have started the game and exited before logging their third plate appearance to be eligible for rescue. Pitchers are not currently eligible for rescue. Spring Training does not apply to Rescues.

NFL Preseason, NBA Preseason, and BASKETBALL (including NBA Summer League) picks are not eligible for Rescue.

Entries are not eligible in states where Pick'em is free to play.

Please allow up to 30 minutes after the game for a player to be Rescued.
