Every sport has its particular scoring. For more information on other sports, check out the MISC section on our rules page.

NFL

Cumulative projections: Any projection joined by the plus (+) symbol means that that pick is a combination of those stats. 'Rushing yards + Receiving yards' for example is the combination of both stats.

Any stats, yards, or TDs accrued on Special teams will not count towards any pick'em pick.

  • Kicking Points: Points scored from successful kicks. 3 points for a FG Made, 1 point for an XP Made. (XPs do not count towards the FG Made projection.)

  • Total Fumbles: Per the NFL Guide for Statisticians, “a fumble is an act (other than pass or kick) that results in a player’s loss of possession of the ball or his failure to handle a ball which has been properly centered to him.” A player will be credited with a fumble if it is recovered by his team, the other team, or goes out of bounds.

  • Fumbles Lost: A player will be credited with a Fumble Lost when he fumbles the ball and it is subsequently recovered by the opposing team.

  • First Downs: In addition to reaching the line to gain for a first down, players will also receive credit for a first down on each touchdown resulting from rushes or being on the receiving end of forward passes. Additionally, a player will not receive credit for a first down if a penalty caused the first down.

  • Passing First Downs: A player who passes for a first down or touchdown will receive credit for a Passing First Down. Additionally, a player will not receive credit for a passing first down if a penalty caused the first down.

  • Tackles for Loss: Tackles of a rusher or receiver behind the line of scrimmage. Notes: Sacks count as a Tackle for Loss UNLESS it is a sack of 0 yards or the sack results in a fumble. Additionally, assisted tackles, including half sacks, do not count as a tackle for loss.

  • Solo Tackles: A player is credited with a solo tackle when they are the primary or only player to tackle the ball carrier.

  • Assists: An assist may be recorded if a player is tackled by two players.

  • Tackles + Assist: A player's combined solo tackles and assists. Sometimes called total or combined tackles.

  • 3rd Down Conversions:

    • Any player who crosses the line to gain (i.e. first down) on a 3rd Down play will be credited with a 3rd Down Conversion.

    • For a passing play, a 3rd Down Conversion will be credited to the player who passed the ball as well as the receiver.

    • For a rushing play, a 3rd Down Conversion will be credited to the player that carries the ball over the line to gain.

    • A Touchdown that is scored on 3rd Down will count as a 3rd Down Conversion.

  • Kickoff Touchbacks:

    • Any kickoff into the end zone that is not returned will result in a Touchback.

    • A fair catch made inside the 25 yard line but outside of the end zone will not count as a touchback.

  • Punts Inside 20:

    • The Punter will be given a Punt Inside The 20 if either of the following conditions are met:

      • The punt is returned and the return ends inside the opponent’s 20.

      • The punt is not returned and the punt is downed, goes out of bounds, or is fair caught inside the opponent’s 20.

    • If the ball is muffed and the ball goes into the end zone, and the kicking team recovers the ball for a touchdown, credit a Punt Inside The 20.

    • When there is a penalty during the return, the point at which the return ends statistically is the determining spot for crediting a Punt Inside The 20.

    • A touchback will not count as a Punt Inside The 20.

  • Avg Yards Per Punt:

    • This will be graded as the gross yardage of the punt. In other words, the return will not be factored into the yardage.

    • The punt yardage is graded from the line of scrimmage.

  • Red Zone Rush Attempts:

    • A player will be credited with a Red Zone Rush Attempt when he attempts a rush on a play originating at or inside the opponent’s 20 yard line.

    • If the snap occurs outside of the Red Zone, the player will not receive a Red Zone Rush Attempt, regardless of where he is on the field when the play ends.

  • Red Zone Targets:

    • A player will be credited with a Red Zone Target when he is the intended receiver on a pass play originating at or inside the opponent’s 20 yard line.

    • If the snap occurs outside of the Red Zone, the player will not receive a Red Zone Target, regardless of where he is on the field when he is targeted.

  • 20+ Yd Completions:

    • A completed pass that results in a gain of 20 yards or more.

    • Penalty yardage will not be included.

    • If the ball is fumbled or lateraled, yards gained or lost from the fumble/lateral will not be included.

  • 10+ Yd Rushes:

    • A rush attempt that results in a gain of 10 yards or more.

    • Penalty yardage will not be included.

    • If the ball is fumbled or lateraled, yards gained or lost from the fumble/lateral will not be included.

  • 20+ Yd Receptions:

    • A reception that results in a game of 20 yards or more.

    • Penalty yardage will not be included.

    • If the ball is fumbled or lateraled, yards gained or lost from the fumble/lateral will not be included.

NFL 2H

  • Stats accumulated during overtime will be scored for all NFL 2H entries.

  • A player must play at least one snap (including kickoff) in the second half, otherwise the selection will be void.

  • Any NFL 2H selection entered after kickoff of the second half will be void.

NFL Season

  • The 2023-2024 NFL Season picks will exclude playoffs and be settled after the conclusion of the regular season based on their respective stats.

  • If a player does not play in at least 5 games (at least 1 play per game) during the season, their picks will be void. If the season is shortened for any reason, the 5-game minimum rule remains.

  • If a player changes teams at any point before or during the season, this will NOT affect the players' projections unless the team change results in an entry only consisting of one team, making it invalid at the time of settlement.

NFLCOMBO

Both players in the combo must play or else the projection will void.

NBA

Cumulative projections: Any projection joined by the plus (+) symbol means that that pick is a combination of those stats. 'Points + Rebounds + Assists' for example is the combination of all 3 stats.

Personal fouls: Scored as awarded by NBA officials/scoresheets. Technical fouls do not count toward this stat.

NBA 2H

  • Stats accumulated during overtime will be scored for all NBA 2H entries.

  • A player must play in the second half, otherwise their selection will be void.

  • Any NBA 2H selection entered after the start of the second half will be void.

NBA 3pt contest

  • Finishing Position - the order of scores will determine a player's finishing position. For example, the player with the 5th highest score will have a Finishing Position of 5.

  • If two or more players finish with the same score, they will be graded with the same finishing position. This means if multiple players tie for the 5th highest score, all will be graded with a Finishing Position of 5. The exception to this is if the tied players qualify for a tiebreaker, in which case the scores in the tiebreaker round will determine the order of the Finishing Position grade for those players.

  • Points/shots accrued during any tie breaker rounds will not count towards the grading of any R1 or Final Round projections.

  • Moneyballs Made - this includes the all-moneyball rack (5) and each moneyball from the other four racks.

Steph vs Sabrina

  • Shots made in a tiebreaker round will not count.

NBA Celebrity All-Star Game

Celebrity All-Star Game: Points scored during a crunch time will be included to final scores. Any shots - including bonuses - will be included for grading.

NBA Season

  • The 2023-2024 NBA Season picks will be settled after the conclusion of the regular season based on their respective stats.

  • Playoffs and the in-season tournament championship will not count toward NBA Season picks.

  • Projections that are subject to an average will be noted on the stat type.

  • Stat scoring will be updated weekly.

  • If a player does not play in at least 41 games (must start or be subbed in) during the season, their picks will be void. If the season is shortened for any reason, the 41-game minimum rule will still be enforced.

  • If a player changes teams at any point before or during the season, this will NOT affect the players' projections unless the team change results in an entry only consisting of one team, making it invalid at the time of settlement.

NHL

Points: counts the total of goals and assists.

Shots: counts the number of shots on goal.

Cumulative projections: Any projection joined by the plus (+) symbol means that that pick is a combination of those stats. With 'Points' (as mentioned above) already being a cumulative projection.

A goalie who does not start will be void.

  • The 2023-2024 NHL Season picks will be settled after the conclusion of the regular season based on their respective stats.

  • Only stats accrued during regular season games will count. Playoff games will not count.

  • If a player changes teams at any point before or during the season, this will NOT affect the players' projections unless the team change results in an entry only consisting of one team, making it invalid at the time of settlement.

  • Goalies must play 20 games minimum. If they play less than 20 games during the regular season, their picks will void.

  • A goalie win will be awarded to whichever goalie is in net when their team scores the game-winning goal.

MLB

Total bases: counts the number of bases earned through a players hit. For example, Single = 1, Double = 2, Triple = 3 etc. Walks and Stolen bases are not included in the scoring system.

Pitching outs: counts the amount of outs recorded while the pitcher is pitching in the game.

Pitch count: counts the amount of pitches thrown by a pitcher. This is scored in accordance with MLB's official count.

Cumulative projections: Any projection joined by the plus (+) symbol means that that pick is a combination of those stats. 'Hits + Bases + Runs' for example is the combination of all 3 stats.

Singles: A batted ball that results in a single. Doubles, Triples, and Home Runs do not count.

Strikeouts: This refers to strikeouts recorded as the pitcher. Strikeouts recorded as a batter will not count.

In order for pitching projections to grade, the player must throw a pitch in the game. If the player starts the game (as a hitter) but does not pitch, his pitching projections will void, and his batting projections will grade normally.

HR Derby

  • All Home Run Derby stats will be graded based on the data provided by the official MLB feed. HR totals and distances displayed on screen during the event are unofficial.

  • Round Scores and Total Scores will include any home runs hit in bonus time and swing offs.

  • Longest HR Distance - the length of a player's longest home run over the course of the event.

  • Max HR Exit Velocity - the exit velocity (mph) of the player's hardest hit home run over the course of the event. Balls that don't result in a home run will not count.

  • 440+ foot HRs - the total number of HRs hit by a player to reach a minimum distance of 440 feet over the course of the event.

MLB All-Star Game

  • If a batter does not start the game but has an at-bat, their pick will be scored.

MLB Season

  • The 2024 MLB Season picks will exclude playoffs and be settled after the conclusion of the regular season based on their respective stats.

  • Batters are required to appear in at least 81 games. If they do not appear in at least 81 games, their projection will void.

  • Pitchers are required to throw at least one pitch in 15 games. If they do not throw one pitch in at least 15 games, their projection will void.

  • Pitchers' ERA projections will be rounded to the thousandth decimal place. For example, if a pitcher has a projection of 4.00 and their ERA is 3.999, their projection will be scored as a Lower. Hitters' batting averages will be rounded to the ten thousandth decimal place. For example, if a batter has a projection of .300 and their average is .2999, their projection will be scored as a Lower.

  • If a player changes teams at any point before or during the season, this will NOT affect the players' projections unless the team change results in an entry only consisting of one team, making it invalid at the time of settlement.

  • Additionally, if a player is released and does not sign with a new team, this will not affect his projection, and the above game appearance requirements remain intact.

MLBCombos

  • Both batters must start the game for the selection to be valid.

  • Both pitchers are not required to start the game for the selection to be valid, but both must throw at least 1 pitch.

PGA

Fewer rivals: For rivals based on certain statistics, ex. strokes, in which case the player with the lower score is considered to have had a better performance, the player on the side of the rival with the lowest score, accounting for potential rival spreads, will be deemed the winning side.

Leaderboard Position: Graded based on the standings after every golfer has completed the specified round. Any penalties assessed after the round has concluded and graded will not be factored into the outcome of your pick(s). For example, if Rory McIlroy has a R2 Leaderboard Position projection of 7.5 and he finishes in fifth place, people that selected "better" would win those selections.

Any golfer that does not complete their full round, will be graded as void. Any golfers that are tied for their finishing position, will be graded with the same finishing position. For example, if there are 3 golfers tied for 1st place at the conclusion of a round, all three would be graded as 1, and the following golfer would be graded as 4.

Round completion and player withdrawals

Both golfers in a golf pick'em rivals matchup MUST complete the round for a winner to be determined. If either golfer does not finish the round (due to injury, withdrawal, DQ, or any other reason), the rival will void, and the payout for the entry including the voided pick will adjust based on the number of valid picks in the entry.
