Underdog offers daily draft tournaments called Battle Royales. These contests are settled on a daily basis.
Battle Royale Overview
In a Battle Royale, participants select their players through a snake draft format. The size of each draft group may vary between Battle Royale contests.
Unlike traditional snake drafts, your competition isn't limited to just the members of your specific group. Instead, you’ll be competing against every group entered into the contest. This means that while your team might share players with others, your performance will be measured against the scores of every other team in the entire contest, not just those in your group.
Key Contest Details
Group Size: The number of participants in each snake draft group may vary, typically ranging from 6 to 12 players, depending on the Battle Royale.
Contest Scope: Your score will be compared against all other teams in the contest, not just within your draft group.
Prize Allocation: At the end of the week, prizes are awarded to the top performers, based on the prize pool specific to that contest. Prize details, including the payout structure, group size, player pool, and slate size, can all differ from one contest to another.
Ties: In the event of a tie, users included in the tie will split the prizes their positions cover evenly. For example if 1st place pays $30, 2nd place pays $20, and 3rd place pays $10 and there is a 3 way tie for 1st, the 3 winners will split a $60 prize. The 2nd highest unique score would then take home 4th place.
Contest Integrity
It is our duty to preserve the integrity of all of our contests. Given this, if your Battle Royale team possesses a combination of 2, 3, or 4 players that was drafted by less than .01% of participants, your contest will be reviewed for cancellation. Intent is not a factor in these reviews.
Player Substitution
In the event that a player you've drafted is ruled out before their game begins and is unable to play, they will be automatically swapped out for an undrafted player, provided there is another game available in the slate that hasn't started yet. You must still adhere to roster construction requirements after the swap.
This system ensures fairness and integrity in the contest, while giving participants a chance to compete on a larger scale than traditional snake drafts.
