Are VPN's Allowed?

Updated yesterday

Underdog strictly prohibits the use of any VPN or location-altering program.

Understanding and Resolving VPN/Proxy Errors

To ensure you're eligible to use Underdog’s services, we need to verify your location. This helps us confirm that you're in a location where we can legally provide our services. Using a Virtual Private Network (VPN) or other location-masking tools prevents us from verifying your location correctly, which means you may not be able to access our services.

Users may encounter VPN errors even when not actively using VPNs due to issues like misconfigured proxy settings, public network routing, or network anomalies. These could result in the system falsely detecting VPN usage.

By using Underdog, you agree not to use VPNs or similar tools that block or alter your location. Make sure your device allows us to accurately determine your location so you can continue enjoying our services. Should you encounter VPN errors, consider checking your device settings for potential misconfigurations.

General Troubleshooting Steps

  1. Turn Off VPNs and Proxies Double-check that VPN or proxy services are disabled in device settings:

    • On your mobile device, go to Settings > Wi-Fi > Tap connected network and ensure "HTTP Proxy" is set to "Off".

    • On your computer, inspect browser or network configurations for proxy detours.

  2. Restart Your Devices Restart your phone, computer, and router to clear any lingering network issues.

  3. Reconnect Your Network

    • Temporarily disable your internet connection, wait a few seconds, and turn it back on.

    • Switch to a mobile hotspot from your usual Wi-Fi/Ethernet connection to test whether the issue is tied to your network.

  4. Enable Location Services Ensure location permissions for Underdog Sports are enabled, especially for browsers:

    • On Chrome, go to Settings > Privacy and Security > Site settings > Location, and ensure "Allow" is selected for Underdog.

  5. Switch Browsers or Disable Extensions

    • Try accessing your account using a different browser. Extensions, especially security-related ones, could interfere with location detection.

    • On your current browser, temporarily disable extensions to identify potential conflicts.

  6. Update Device and App Verify your device's operating system and the Underdog Sports app are updated to the latest versions. Bug fixes in updates often resolve detection errors.

  7. Last Resort Actions

    • Reinstall the Underdog Sports app after uninstalling it.

    • Perform a complete router reset.

    • If errors persist on one device, try accessing your account via a different device or network.
