Pick'em Scoring - HR Derby

Updated over a week ago

Every sport has its particular scoring. For more information on other sports, check out the MISC section on our rules page.

All Home Run Derby stats will be graded based on the data provided by the official MLB feed. HR totals and distances displayed on the screen during the event are unofficial. Round Scores will include any home runs hit in bonus time and swing-offs.

Longest HR Distance - the length of a player's longest home run over the course of the event.

Max HR Exit Velocity - the exit velocity (mph) of the player's hardest hit home run over the course of the event. Balls that don't result in a home run will not count.

450+ foot HRs - the total number of HRs hit by a player to reach a minimum distance of 450 feet over the course of the event.

Bonus HRs - HRs hit during the Bonus Pitches portion of a player’s round before three (or four, if applicable) outs are recorded. This does not include HRs from swing-offs.

R1 Finishing Position

Determined by R1 results for the Home Run Derby. HRs hit in bonus time will count for determining R1 Finishing Position. If multiple eliminated players have the same amount of HRs in R1, their finishing position will then be determined by who hit the longest HR that round. If the tied players also tie for the longest HR distance between each other, then each player will be awarded the higher finishing position (i.e if each player ties for last and have the same longest HR distance, then each player will be graded as finishing in 7th place, rather than 8th).

Example - if Teoscar Hernandez has a R1 finishing projection of 6.5 and he finishes in 5th place in the first round, people that selected "Better" would win those selections because 5 is a better finishing position than 6.5.
